
We are very excited to welcome Jennifer Rainey DVM as a Guest Speaker this year!
Ms.Rainey is the Forensic Veterinarian at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, located in Colorado Springs, CO.
A clinical background in veterinary emergency and critical care medicine, she worked as an emergency veterinarian in a private practice for approximately 15 years. Ms.Rainey then transitioned and received a criminal justice degree with a focus in forensic investigations, and a master's degree in veterinary forensic sciences from the University of Florida. Her primary role at HSPPR is to assist Animal Law Enforcement, as well as local Law Enforcement, with their animal cruelty investigations. In addition, she also provides training to the ALE Academy and is an instructor for Code 3 Associates, INC.

- The role of a forensic veterinarian
- Different forms of Animal Cruelty with case examples, and an overview of the forensic necropsy/postmortem exams.
- Use of ancillary diagnostics and reports
- Photography & Videography methods to further document cases
